Learn Fore-edge Painting with Martin Frost

Price: $140.00

October 17, 2012

10:30-5:00

Wallace Memorial Library, Rochester Institute of Technology

In conjunction with the Cary Graphic Arts Collection exhibition "Edges of Books," Martin Frost will host a workshop introducing participants to the technique of fore-edge painting. On completion they can expect to take away their own gilt-edged book with a hidden painting.

Participants need to be moderately adept with fine brushes but not necessarily highly skilled artists. They will supply their own water color paints (either tube or pan), mixing plate, ruler, pencils, water container and a variety of water color grade brushes including sizes 3 - 5. Students are invited to bring a draft image of their choice complying with a 1:5 format. Simple loan clamps will be available for their use and quality workshop presses offered for sale at $100. Specially printed workshop manuals come free with the course.

The registration fee of $140 includes lunch and a specially created gilt-edged book block.  Space is limited to 12 participants.
