"Mother Daughter" book receives honors
Mother Daughter: Posing As Ourselves, published by RIT Cary Graphic Arts Press in 2009, received a prestigious i-Tonie Award sponsored by Mohawk Fine Papers. The Honorable Mention award, which includes a cash prize of $250, is voted on by industry experts and presented annually in recognition of world-class HP Indigo printing utilizing Mohawk papers for the HP Indigo press. Judges look for projects that exhibit “intelligence, virtuosity, maximization of HP Indigo capabilities, and excellence in production.” The book was printed at RIT’s Printing Applications Lab (PAL) and features stunningly accurate reproductions of black-and-white photographs by RIT professor Elaine O’Neil on a digital press using custom quadtone ink sets for the Hewlett-Packard (HP) Indigo Press. Independently owned Mohawk Fine Papers is the largest premium paper manufacturer in North America and is headquartered in Cohoes, New York.
